There will be NO STUDENT Appeal hearings during the Summer. All Student appeals will only be read."
The Online Appeals Process allows a customer to appeal a parking citation believed to have been issued in error. Any customer who receives a citation may submit an online appeal. All appeals must be submitted online within ten (10) business days from the date the citation was received. IF THE APPEAL IS NOT SUBMITTED WITHIN TEN (10) BUSINESS DAYS, THE RIGHT TO APPEAL WILL BE FORFEITED. After submitting your appeal, if you don't receive a copy of the appeal via email confirmation with 24 hours, please contact the Parking Office at info.parking@parking.gatech.edu or call 404.385.2329. Only a registered Georgia Tech parking permit holder or the registered owner of the vehicle can appeal a citation, regardless if you are faculty, staff, student or non-affiliated. Multiple citations should be appealed on the same form. Incomplete appeal forms will not be processed, causing the entire balance of the citation(s) to become due after ten (10) days. Citations not paid within ten (10) days will also accrue a late fee.
After the decision is made by the appropriate Appeals Board, response letters will be sent via email, using the email address you provided on the appeals form you submitted. Generally, Student and Non-affilated appeals are read within 5 days of submission and Faculty/Staff appeals are read on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of every month. These times may vary due to holidays or other University calendar events.
You will be given the opportunity to appeal more than one ticket if
needed on the same appeals form if the citation falls within the ten (10) business days of the date the citation was written.
As a student, you will be given the opportunity to schedule an appointment for a hearing in addition to your online written appeal. If you choose NOT to schedule an appointment, you are waiving your right to a hearing. The Board's decision is final on all appeals. There are no re-appeals.
As a faculty/staff member, a decision will be made on your written appeal. If you disagree with the decision, you'll be given the opportunity to have a hearing 14 business days from which the decision was made. Hearings are scheduled on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of every month. These times may vary due to holidays or other University calendar events.
During the student appeal hearing and faculty/staff reappeal, appelants may provide any evidence, such as pictures, statements, and witness to support their appeal.
Non-affiliate appeals will be read only. There are no reappeals.
The board's
decision is final on all appeals. There are NO re-appeals.
