Assignment & Distribution

Q Which areas can I register for?
A Permit availability during registration is also based on your group affiliation. Some lots are not available for students (ie. W03). Only those lots you are eligible for will appear on your lot choice menu.

Q What is the schedule for assignment and distribution?
A Web Registration will end on June 30.  Assignment of permits and preparation for distribution will occur during the period July 1 through July 25.  Information about your permit assignment will be sent to you via email. Faculty, staff, and student permits will be mailed to the address designated during Registration by July 30, 2006. Students who chose the Pick Up option during registration can pick up their permit at the Parking Office from August 1 - September 1st.  You must present valid identification and your signature will be required.  Friends or relatives may not pick up the permit for you.  Permits not picked up by the close of business (5:00pm) September 1st, 2006 will be returned to the Parking Office and sold to persons on the waiting list.

Q What are the permit assignment priorities?
A

Registration Priority

  1. Faculty, staff, students and non-affiliates who currently have a parking permit and renew their permit for their current area.
  2. Faculty/Staff who currently have a permit and are requesting to change their area.
  3. Faculty/Staff who do not have a permit and are requesting an area for the first time.
  4. Graduate students who currently have a permit and are requesting to change their area.
  5. Undergrad students (based on grade level: Senior, Junior, Sophomore, Freshmen) who currently have a permit and are requesting to change their area.
  6. Non-affiliates who currently have a permit and are requesting to change their area.
  7. Graduate students who do not have a permit and are requesting an area for the first time.
  8. Undergrad students (based on grade level: Senior, Junior, Sophomore, Freshmen) who do not have a permit and are requesting an area for the first time.
  9. Non-affiliates who do not have a permit and are requesting an area for the first time.

There is no priority granted based on date registered during Priority Registration (April 15 - June 30). Applicants are radomized based on their group affiliation (ie. Juniors) and permit availability.

Anyone registering after June 30th, 2006 will receive a permit on a first-come, first-serve and availablity basis.

Current permit holders requesting a change of zone will be allowed five choices, the sixth choice will default to the current zone. If Parking is unable to assign your first five choices you will be put back into the lot you wanted to move from (sixth choice).

Six choices are allowed for new requests. Parking STRONGLY ENCOURAGES you to make ALL SIX choices. Parking will not assign you to a lot you did not choose.
