Q How can I check on the status of my parking assignment after the April 15 – June 30 registration period has closed?
A

Once assignments have been made, you will receive an email with the details of your assignment.

  top
Q I don't read e-mail. How can I be sure that the parking office has received my application?
A After submitting your request, you may print a copy of your confirmation screen and save it for your records.
  top
Q What do I do if I received a parking assignment but did not receive my permit?
A If you've received a parking assignment and you do not receive your permit on or before August 30, please contact the parking office via email at register@parking.gatech.edu or call 404-894-8181.  Leave a message and be sure to include your name, your campus address, your GT ID or employee ID, and contact information including telephone number. Parking staff will investigate the matter and contact you within two business days. Upon verification that the permit was issued and distributed, the missing permit will be entered in the permit enforcement system as a "lost or stolen" permit. The applicant will be instructed to go to the parking office and re-apply for another permit and will be assigned to the same space that was approved during the original permit assignment process. Enforcement personnel will impound any vehicle displaying the permit that was reported lost or stolen.
top
Q If I report my permit lost what do I do if it is found?
A Return the permit to the Parking Office immediately. Persons found in possession of a permit that was reported lost or stolen will have their vehicle impounded, will be issued a citation, and will be required to pay for the prorated use of the parking facility from the date the permit was reported lost or stolen through the date the permit was recovered. In addition, students will be reported to the Dean of Students for disciplinary action and employee infractions will be reported to the employee's supervisor.

Q I am a co-op student and won't be on the Georgia Tech campus in fall 2006. How can I receive my permit?
A Coop students who are not on campus in the fall may register on the web and purchase a permit for the entire year. The permit will be sent to the address you designate during registration. If you choose not to pay for the entire year, log on to www.applyparking.gatech.edu after August 1st to be placed on the wait list. List a maximum of six lot choices. Placement on the waiting list does not guarantee that you will receive a permit for the spring semester but will insure that you are notified should a space become available. This also eliminates the need to stand in line at the beginning of the spring semester, as those on the waiting list will again take priority over any and all walk-in requests.
top
Q How and when will I receive my permit?
A

Faculty, Staff and Student permits will be distributed via US Mail, beginning July 24th. Your permit will be sent to the address you designated during the registration process.

Some Students may have chosen to pick their permit up during registration. Permit pickup will be available August 1 - August 30 at the Parking Office. You must present valid picture identification and your signature will be required. Friends or relatives may not pick up the permit for you. Permits not picked up by September 5th will be returned to the Parking Office and sold to persons on the waiting list. Vehicles not displaying a current permit and/or vehicles parked outside the designated areas will be cited.
