SmartPark: Discounted Parking for Georgia Tech Commuters

SmartPark is a pay as you park discounted program designed for commuter students, part-time faculty/staff, and public transportation riders who occasionally need to drive to campus.

What is the SmartPark Program ?
SmartPark is a new parking permit type for the Georgia Tech Campus, which allows you to pay for parking using funds associated with your BuzzCard. With a SmartPark Permit, you can use your BuzzCard to access designated parking lots on the Georgia Tech Campus and the discounted daily parking fee is automatically debited from your BuzzCard Account.

What parking areas are available through the SmartPark Program?
SmartPark can be used to access the Technology Square Parking Deck-E81, the North Deck-W23 and the Area 3 Visitor Lot. As the program grows in popularity, additional parking areas may be added.

Who can participate in the SmartPark Program?
The SmartPark permit is designed for commuter students, part-time faculty/staff, and public transportation riders who occasionally need to drive to campus. SmartPark is valid between the hours of 5:30AM - 12:00 midnight, daily. No over-night parking is permitted.

How do I join the SmartPark Program, and how much does it cost?
You must purchase a SmartPark permit from the Georgia Tech Parking Office. The annual permit fee is $25.00 (non-refundable).

How does the SmartPark Program work?
When you purchase a SmartPark permit, your BuzzCard is automatically programmed for use in designated SmartPark lots. Each time you use your BuzzCard to enter a SmartPark lot, $5.00 will be debited from your BuzzCard Account. No free IN & OUT privileges are allowed. Access is denied, if your account goes below $5.00 (the cost of a single entrance) or if you have violated the anti-passback feature, which requires sequential IN and OUT usage. You can replenish your BuzzCard Account at any time prior to the expiration of your permit (see below).

How do I replenish my BuzzCard Account to utilize the SmartPark Program?
Permit holders can utilize the following sources to replenish their BuzzCard Account:

•  In person at the BuzzCard Center . Credit cards are accepted (Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express).

•  At any Value Transfer Station .

•  The On-line Card Office application via BuzzCardNET . Credit cards are accepted (Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express).

When does the SmartPark Permit expire?
The SmartPark Permit, like all other parking permits, is valid for a parking year which begins August 1st and ends the following July 31st. The SmartPark permit may be purchased at any time throughout the year; the cost of the permit is non-refundable.

How can I get more information about SmartPark?
You can contact the Parking & Transportation Office or the BuzzCard Center .
