Locating an Impounded Vehicle

Vehicles towed by the Georgia Tech Parking and Police departments can be searched online at http://ga.towedcar.com .

If your vehicle is not found in the system, please contact private storage lots for vehicles impounded on private property without police or parking involvement. If you feel your vehicle was stolen, please contact the Georgia Tech Police Department front desk at 404.894.2500. Citizens without internet access should direct inquiries to the police or parking departments.

Required Information to Release Vehicle

Vehicles can be released to registered owner or a relative with the same last name. In addition to paying the towing and storage fees and outstanding parking fines, you will need the following to release your vehicle.

•  License Plate Number or Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)

•  Picture ID, such as a Driver's License or North Carolina ID Card

•  Proof of insurance in your name

•  Current registration, title, or lease agreement

Authorizing Someone Else to Release Vehicle

A person who is not the registered owner may pick up the vehicle, or remove property from the vehicle, if they have a notarized statement from the registered owner that includes:

•  The name of the authorized person

•  A photo copy of the registered owner's ID or Driver's License.

•  License Plate Number or Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)

•  Make and year of the vehicle

The Georgia Tech Parking Department is located at: 828 W. Peachtree St. NW . Storage Vehicles are available for release f rom 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Accepted Forms of Payment

The following form of payments are accepted by storage lots

•  Cash

•  Visa, MasterCard, American Express

•  Personal Checks, Travelers Checks, Money Orders, Cashier Checks, Buzz Card
