Metro Transit

Discounted Transit Passes:

Students, faculty and staff are eligible for a $10 discount on monthly transit passes from MARTA, GRTA Xpress, Cobb and Gwinnett County Transit.

Students:

Monthly MARTA transit passes are available for students to purchase at the Ferst Center Box Office located on the second floor of the Student Center. MARTA passes are only good for the calendar month in which they are purchased. Currently GRTA Xpress, Cobb and Gwinnett County Transit are only available for faculty and staff through payroll deduction.

Faculty/Staff:

Faculty and staff can either purchase their MARTA transit passes at the Ferst Center Box Office or they may sign up for employee payroll deduction. GRTA Xpress, Cobb and Gwinnett County Transit passes can only be purchased through payroll deduction.

Faculty and staff who participate in the payroll deduction program enjoy additional savings, as the pass will be deducted from your pay check pre-tax, thus lowering your taxable income. Employees who submit deduction requests before the 10th of the month will be able to pick up their next month's transit pass at the end of the current month.

Monthly Pass Costs:

MARTA: $35.50/students, $46.50/faculty and staff

GRTA Xpress Bus: $70

Cobb Community Transit: $80

Gwinnett County Transit: $90/Zone 1, $140/Zone 2

How to Sign-up for Payroll Deduction:

1) Log into your account at www.techworks.gatech.edu

2) Click "Payroll and Compensation Home,"

3) Click "Voluntary Deductions,"

4) Click "Add Deduction,"

7) Enter corresponding transit pass cost (enter half the total cost of pass for biweekly employees, enter full cost of pass for monthly employees),

9) Press "Save!"

Where to Pick-up Passes:

Passes purchased through payroll deduction can be picked up during the week leading up to the next month at the Ferst Center Box Office located on the second floor of the Student Center.
