New Pilot Program – Home Park/Centennial Place Ride Home Service

– For this pilot program students may use the evening Stingerette service for travel from campus to the Home Park or Centennial Place neighborhoods.

– Service is available during regular evening Stingerette hours – 7 days a week from 6pm to 7am. Please note Stingerette stops taking calls at 6:30am.

– A Safe Ride Home Punch Card is required to use this service. The cost is $4/ride with the option of buying a 5-ride or 10-ride punch card. For a limited time, punch cards are being sold for $2/ride with the option of buying a 5-ride or 10-ride punch card!

– Cards may be purchased M-F in the Parking and Transportation Office between 8am and 5pm.

– Here are the program restrictions:

• For this pilot, only the Home Park and Centennial Place neighborhoods will be served.

• Rides will only be provided from campus to Home Park or Centennial Place.

• No rides will be provided from these neighborhoods back to campus, nor rides solely within the neighborhoods. If needed, the Parking and Transportation Office will assist you by calling a taxi service for those rides. The taxi fare must be paid by the user.

• One punch for each ride.

– The success of the program will be evaluated during the semester based on the demand levels for the extra service, and the impact of the program on the existing on-campus Stingerette service.

Taxi Service

– By calling 5-RIDE you will be assisted in facilitating a taxi cab ride to and from off-campus destinations. General user fees are: $2.50 initially, $2/mile, and an additional $2 per person over 1 plus gratuity.
